Youth Film Project 2021

The Youth Film Project gives young people aged between 14 and 24 years old, the opportunity to write and produce their own short film.

Led by Damilola Youth, the Youth Film Project 2021 offers young people the opportunity to learn end-to-end filmmaking with industry experts using professional equipment. Young people have the chance to learn a broad range of filmmaking skills as well as develop their interpersonal skills and make new friends in the process.

During this two-week programme, young people learn scriptwriting, camera work and video editing through daily workshops. There are also prizes up for grabs including a GoPro HERO 7 and gift vouchers. All participants will also be presented with a certificate signed by Richard Taylor OBE at the end of the programme.

The Youth Film Project 2021 is running during the Easter holidays from 6 April 2021 – 16 April 2021 between 9.00am - 3.00pm (excluding weekends).

The first Youth Film Project took place in October 2012 with communities in and around Peckham. Young people saw the film as a way to start discussions on the challenges facing the community, and an opportunity to develop youth-led programmes and projects that could be implemented in collaboration with other agencies.
