Day of Hope: 7 December 2022

The 7th of December was the birthday of Damilola Taylor. In 2020, the 20th anniversary of Damilola’s death, it was designated an annual Day of Hope by Boris Johnson and the British Government. Because of the pandemic the Day of Hope was launched in 2021 and the Hope Collective formed to give youth a way to voice their hopes. Their work is described in detail here.

This year’s Day of Hope challenge aims to hear from as many young people as possible about what a fairer society looks like to them. We will be doing this through a “Fairer Society” survey. Details will be added here shortly.

The Damilola Taylor Trust supports getting as many young people as possible to complete the survey. There will be prizes for individual young people and for the organisation that gets the highest number of young people to complete the form.
